I've just read all 12 pages, and not one person that I could see has mentioned Forefather, so I'd better rectify that right now. Anglo-Saxon pagan metal, they're very good. Nice to see someone say Tenhi - how about Of the Wand and the Moon, and maybe Naervaer (although that's more folk in the style of Bob Dylan...). I just discovered Ensiferum, waiting for my copy of Iron.... love Lai Lai Hej!

# I just discovered Ensiferum, waiting for my copy of Iron.... love Lai Lai Hej! Ah... good choice! I don`t know anyone so far, who doesn`t like this album! Have we already mentioned Vintersorg and Otyg as folk metal bands, by the way? I just loooove these two! Especially the OLD Vintersorg stuff is breath-taking!

Besides Korpiklaani I like a lot of other bands, first of all Finntroll. But also Moonsorrow, Otyg, Windir, Thyrfing, Nattvindens Grat, Hin Onde, Wintersun, Ensiferum, and a lot more. (it's a pity that some of this great bands do not exist anymore) But I also like Lumsk, Asmegin, Tenhi and who has heard of those funny guys of TrollfesT? Besides all metal...I like to listen to Eläkeläiset, they always cheer me up, when I feel down.

I've been taking notes, and I now have a list of bands as long as my arm to go check out! I'll be downloading samples for the next month!! It's great lthough, I love discovering bands I've not heard of before.

Your list opens new perspectives. I only know Metsatöll (which I like a lot) and Värttinä, who's melodies are great. Thanks, I will try to find some samples, of Ilgi I found some on their website already.

All Einherjer fans OHOI!!! "The re-release of the EINHERJER classic NORWEGIAN NATIVE ART, is out in Norwegian stores today (31.oct). The remastering in Tailor Maid, Stockholm by Peter In De Betou(Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved, Susperia), secures top sound quality. Stunning new artwork, and as bonus the album features a previously unreleased track from the BLOT-sessions and the Ironbound video clip." I got to have it but it's 18euros in CDON ...

No, I can't find it anywhere , I have only Dragons of the North and Blot... Still searching Odin owns ye all, but if I find it it's a way too expensive (over 20euros)... PS. I ordered the remaster today

I don't believe that hasn't been mentioned HEOL TELWEN! What an amazing celtic folk band! Their first album (except 2003's demo) is on the way!

ok ladies and trolls. i dont know if someone mentioned Troll Bends Fir: www.trollge.ruthey're russian, there style reminds me a little bit our(iberian) "celtic" folk. my russian colleague that sugested me this band said they say that they are beer folk metal. their site is down, because it had a few problem, dues to same brazillians. southern troll, do you know anything about this, hm? Anyway, they had 11 songs online to download. very cool! and ye, 1 of the girls is kinda pretty.just a little extra. :]
