This is something that happens cyclically in the rock world, a new style is born, for a year and a half it's something new, but later on a lot of bands begin to do the same, so three or four years later you've got a lot of band playing the same; that's what happened with power metal, there were Helloween, Rage and Gamma Ray, and after those bands a lot of photocopies that had nothing new to offer, and which in my oopinion do nothing but saturate the scene. It's ok to feel inspired, all of us have our heroes that we want to emulate, but each new band must find its own touch, its own new ingredient to make the old dish of rock Just as I said before in the other topic dealing the issue: There comes a time for an every music style, when the originality and the main thing how to build your own music, will run out of it's course. It's when the music ends to be a prisoner of it's own self-created limited concept. Thus has happened to many musical genres and subgenres, including "folk metal" . And from "folk metal" overall I said to have a problem like this: -- this Scandinavian/Celtic/Germanic/medieval - stuff is some sort of trend in this genre. The word "folk music" refers that it should be music by and of the people[/b][/u]. So, in that logic "folk metal" should be metal music by and of the people, shouldn't it? But now it is metal music called to be folk metal, but truly it's a metal music using Viking, Celtic, Germanic, medieval and even fantasy trends. The thing I dislike most is that specially here in Finland many people always makes "folk metal" from those already used Viking and Celtic themes - even when we have our own folklore and own traditions in here as well. Same goes more than propably elsewhere too. We have other countries and people in Europe too than Scandinavian ones (or Celtic or Germanic), so their should come out as well (not to speak about the whole wide World again..) [/quote]

I think it's okay to use inspiration from others, as long as you put enough from yourself in it. To my opinion Svidgar is original enough, and I like our music a lot

Just as I said before in the other topic dealing the issue: And from "folk metal" overall I said to have a problem like this: And instead of always repeating (copy-pasteing) over and over again like this, I would rather prefer pointing to the whole conversation so that people could get a clear picture of what we all have discussed concerning this subject as a whole, and via this it could be easier also for the others to participate in sharing thoughts about the matter in question. I think we all have had a lot of good point of views, and I don't see any particular reason to point only to those of a single person, were then certain things said for several times before or not. Thus no offence; my point here was only that the idea of a conversation is to develop and to proggress, and at least copy-pasteing is not that. At the most a couple of times might be ok, but too much is too much, eiks jeh..? Check out this thread, since the reply #234.

Concerning the music of Svidgar...I like it, but you could improve your synthesizers^^ This is not supposed to grow to severe criticism, I am just suggesting you things from a moreover neutral point of view

@ Humppaporo : probably it has been said a lot of times before, but I really like your car Always nice to hear! Thanks! I like it too! Still many people say I must be crazy to have my car smudged by children ;D If I say that this isn't done by children and on my request, they gaze at me and shuffle away. ;D Many people call my car: the car with the puppets. Once some people asked what these puppets mean, and I told them about Korpiklaani and shaman drum etc, they asked what kind of sect I was a member of.
