Helran, the first book (Vatanen...) is probably Rabbit's Year... if it's about a guy and a rabbit, the second one probably Charming Mass Suicide, if about a group of people wanting to commit mas suicide, eh? ;D original titles (once i know by heart): Howling Miller = Ulvova mylärri (mylläri?) Rabbit's Year = Jäniksen vuosi the rest i'll try to post soon, if noone beats me to it

yeah, like PJ getting shot and Gimli singing that silly dwarven (love?) song: "We who go swimming with small hairy women!" ;D Korpiklaani should make a song outta this one ;D liked the Mouth of Sauron too... though it was more comical than horrifying... okay, maybe disgusting was the point - well achieved that one

ah, so that's the correct writing thanx just saw House of Flying Daggers in the movie theatre... didn't grab me quite as much as Hero, but it's not that bad... coreography, camera, effects get 10/10, plot gets 8/10 and the weird romance behind it 7/10... so it's 8/10 in all... if you liked Hero and/or Croachng Tiger-Hidden Dragon you'll like this one too

me too actually, the tropics are too damn hot for me. i meant it's nice, 'cos most people coming (legally or illegally) to either Europe or Gringolandia would prefer to stay home if they could as well... and seeing all the drama therein turned upside down was nice... though it was the climate making us northerners flee south in the movie and not fucked up economical & security situation as in real life.
anyway, just saw the extended edition of Return Of The King... good, and some hilarious extras (i knew dwarves couldn't hold their liquor ;D)

Bhanghra! ;D Just kiddin', only saw Monsoon Wedding, which wasn't a musical, but neither a 'really' Indian movie, i think the director and many actors were from the british indian diaspora, hm...
i love First Nations (Native American/American Indian) movies, try to see one if you can, they're really clever and funny no matter if dramas or tragedies or some more folkloristic ones... Smoke Signals would be a great start if you're interested in their movies ;D

aye, that happens if you write not too sober but recently Kusturica nad Bregovic almost always work together, so they're an entitiy to me, hehe... plus the Underground soundtrack is almost a constant in my cd-player if you like balkan movies, do try Mancevski's Before the Rain and Dust (macedonian) ps: it's serbian, not servian! as slavs not slaves

Last film I saw was a true masterpiece: No Man's Land. It's a film about the Servia-Bosnia Herzegovina war which is quite good because it criticizes not only the serbs and bosnians but also the UN Forces (UNPROFOR) and specially the damn journalists. THOSE VULTURES. To think that I almost became one.... oh yes, this one is great! but most bosnian films are... too bad you don't speak the language otherwise i'd recomend some great monty-python style '80s bosnian/yugoslav comedies... 'Hop, Skip and Jump' is also a good (short) movie made on the BiH war... also anything by Goran Bregovic
