I wrote reviews of both Shaman albums and Spirit of the Forest on www.trolleve.com, in the Reviews section obviously. If you guys come around to read them, feel free to post a coment or bitch about how much of a neat-picker I really am. Cheers!

Great to have some Shaman reviews also because I know it is many of them who are thinking about what kind of albums are those.
Good explanation about joiking overall on the "Idja " review !

Thanks... I really see Idja in a different light than Shamániac and Spirit, though it's not really metal in my opinion, it has a great genuine folkish feeling, specially through the joiking. So I decided to investigate about joik in some pages Mr. Holtiton mentioned in another thread.... I hope I haven't commited any heresy while explaining it's vibe and feeling. I really love the fact that "you don't yoik about something, you yoik something". At least it was what I read... it really gives joiking a completely different prespective than most vocal traditions. That's why I said that I missed it so much in Spirit... hehehe

You have good reviews in Trolleve about Shaman and Korpiklaani. I also liked your Moonsorrow reviews. I have a one essay (what the hell "essee" is in English) kind of review about Shamániac, from which I wrote in Finnish three years ago in Orivesi Folk University. I have it still somewhere in the dephts of my computer.. And yes.. The explanation about yoiking was matched! You have studied it. A side of yoiking I also like throat-singin', which makes somewhat same effect for me (except the throat-singin' is a bit more "warfull"). You can hear a throat-singin' in a new Korpiklaani album too!

Alas, I did not write the Moonsorrow reviews... Stefan Lejon, their webmaster, did. There are several people reviewing albums in trolleve... I am just on of them, and have only reviewed Shaman/Korpiklaani so far. About throat singing, it's simply brilliant. Hunn-Huur Tuu's cooperation with bulgarian voices in Fly, Fly My Sadness is definately one of my favourite vocal music albums.

This morning, when I went to work, I bought the new „MetalHeart“ Magazin on the way. There´s a A4-size article about Korpiklaani in it (with picture etc). Probably the bandmembers already know the article (and got the magazine over their label), but I´ll try to scan and post it here for the fans from the other countries (if no one else does), when I´m back home tonight. P.S. My avatar picture is gone again ... but I will try to fix it myself again, when I´m back home.

Besides I can see your avatar quite clearly...Or am I just projecting what I'm used to see ;D ? Ahaha... yeah, you`re right, it`s back now! Maybe it was just a downtime of the server-space or anything (because Jonne`s pictures were gone as well at the same time, and they are on the same server).

I don`t know nothing about that. It have to be Hittavainen`s or Cane`s interview. Let me quickly check (I have the magazine here in my bag) > It says "Interview with Jaakko Lemmetty" (I guess that`s Hittavainen)! But I think Hitta should really inform you about interviews like this... because "MetalHeart" is one of the most important magazines in Germany (not the best to my taste, but it sells looots of copies)... so what`s written in there, can bring you many new fans (or make you lose them, of course). I can try to give you a short summary about the content, if you want...?
