I got my man into Korpiklaani and am so glad for it! Actually it's funny I think I've recently been turning him into a metalhead.. he's always been a punk guy (he likes iggy and the stooges, the clash, ramones, stuff like that) but I have been unleashing the metal influence upon him... muahahhaa... He doesn't like symphonic metal, too bad, but he's digging folk metal and viking metal! So, when I first put Korpiklaani on for him, it was either voice of wilderness or spirit of the forest... after 1 or 2 songs, he was like "hm, this is pretty good!" then a couple of songs later he was like "wow, this is REALLY good! I really like this!" and then when "With Trees" came on he's like... "THIS is HOT!" hehehe you can see the progression here... that was pretty much the progression of my thoughts when I first heard a KK CD too... And so then after he heard a couple of albums, I think specifically when "Native Land" was on, he said something like "I love the way he (Jonne) sings, he's so earnest!" and at some point, "I have no idea what he's singing but he sounds like he means it!" hehheee from him this is a big compliment

My father is really into most of the stuff I like, apart from death and black metal, mostly. He really likes Korpiklaani. My mother only listens to the new pop music, but she's boring, anyway!

Maybe the thead-title shoudl be changed into introducing metal to your parents But anyway... My mother entered when I was listening to Viikate, and she said, well this is nice easy metal Last week we were on our way to a birthday, and I put Idja inn the cd player, and she liked it... normally she can hardly stand music while driving... But Shaman is ok...

My mother liked Pellonpekko...but the humppa turned them off.. Wasnt as bad as when she heard Teijo Joutsela's Humppa Veikot though! "Turn it off your I will kill you" My parents are thorough metal heads, not polka fans....lol. My mother was intrigued by the look of Jonne though!

I actually infected several of my friends with the Korpiklaani-virus! Although I must add, that one of them only likes the name because here in Holland you don't hear anything like the word "Korpiklaani" very fast so. The music unfortunatly he doesn't like so much.. but I got a friend of mine and my sister to like it and go to the concert last november with me \m/ which was ofcourse really awesome! My mother on the other hand isn't really fond of the finns growling in the forest.. everytime I play it she goes like: What is this? It sounds so agressive, I bet its not good for you. But ah well.. I just go on spreading the Korpiklaani-virus as I please!

Hehe, whenever my mother comes to my room and hears this kind of music she just says: "What's that? How can you listen to it?" And then she usually tries to get out of the room as quickly as possible .
