What do you think of the crisis in Lebanon? I think it is for diverting people's attention from the unsuccessful American wars on the Near East. Poor A. Sharon, this war is really against his intentions. That sounds kind of conspiracy-theory-minded, and unlikely, no? I think this thing happening in Lebanon is not surprising; In fact I would not be surprised if the ongoing middle east crisis boils over into World War III, nukes and all. Whether or not the leaders of these countries want war, unfortunately, there are enough extremists on both sides to cause a disaster of global proportions. Anyway, there's an economical slow-down all over in the wetern world, especially in the USA, and economical crisise are usually solved by wars - as far as my memories from history lessons are good. Not in this case. World War II helped the economy because many people were employed to help the war effort. I don't think this has been the case with any war since, and certainly not now... the only people in the USA becoming well-off from this war are Haliburton and company.

The problem is that the number of people who believes on this analphabet is smaller than the number of people who doesn't vote for him or who simply cares a shit about it. What I think is worst about this situation -call it Lebanon, Irak, or whatever- is that there's a small club of 5 countries (if I' not wrong) which keeps a right to make null what the others think must be done. I can't understand that in year 2006 the vote of some countries invalidates the rest want to do in global security. What's UN for if one country of the group of 5 has mre weight than the rest? It's monstruous, and the problem is that in the last years there are two countries -Israel and USA- who just systematically jumps over international legality; in the case of Israel its more shocking since it's not a legitimate state... why I say that? Because it is a state which was artificially created after WWII with the excuse of giving a land to Jews... lets see, its as if we Spanish want oyur old empire back because "once we had an empire"; Jews had once a country, they left so fuck off! How can anybody want that three or four countries are removed a piece of their territories to be given to some people who comes from the rest of the world? I ask myself why aren't gypsies given a territory to create a estate? They are spread all over the world! Just like Jews were! What the fuck have Jews in special, do they've got a rose in the ass? Or is it that they are the owners of the biggest economical empires in the world? And where is that money... maybe in the USA? and what's the principal economical supply right now... oil maybe? And how it is that USA haven't any allied before WWII in the zone where the majority of oil is extracted? Oh, and why Hugo Chávez is such a bad guy... maybe because he rules a country with oil but he doesn't want to follow USA directrices? I ask so many things that conspiracy theories seem to be rather plausible

what you said about the jews, they never left they were kicked around and spat on, and at the end of ww2 they had no were to go thanks to germany. so the allies gave them their rightfull land back just as they did with the france, espaina(spain), and many other countries. at the end of ww2 france barly even exsited but the allies saved it and gave it back to the right full owners when the could easly have taken it for their own just like with the jews. and by the way its not just the usa thats to blame for this crap hole were in. britan, france , china and russia are as much to blame, yay amarica fucked up big time but its not all ower fault. and ower boys and girls are dieing right now do to bush's greed, but there not bowing down and their takeing there licks, its way to easy to blame amarica for every thing bad in this world becouse it means your goverments dont have to fess up to their responiblitys. were haveing a hard time right now becouse we have had to stick it out alone for a long time, its one reseone ower economy is in the shitter that and bush. and when he came around it sounded like he was going to get help for us in the rest of the world something we despertly needed but in stead he pissed you all off. At the 2004 election we despretly tryed to get his ass out of their, but yet again he fucked with the vote. we need help, dont hate us as a hole please were a country highly diveded.

... so the allies gave them their rightfull land back just as they did with the france, espaina(spain), and many other countries. Upssss, I think I must re-read my history books because I didn't know that Spain was given back to their people after WWII... in fact I thought Spain never fought at WWII... even I'd dare to say that USA (alongside with UK and FRance, by never sending troops to Spain -except those volunteers, the International Brigades- trying not to make Hitler angry) left the democratically ellected Socialist goverment of Manuel Azaña loose the war against the Fascist troops of Francisco Franco, who was supported by Hitler and Mussolinni; I also thought that after that war, Spain had to suffer 40 years of fascist regime. But anyway I like better your version, this would mean that in Spain we are still ruled under a Republic, not a kingdom ellected by the former dictator. As I say, I'll re-read my history books

I'm very happy that this forum is descussing about politique, I'm writing in another forum about Politique and my friends hide topics inside of off-topic hiding from the Homepage.
Returning to the problems of the war in Lebanon I think tha is very wrong to fight a nation who don't have national soldiers for defending the sovereignity who they have.
Nasrallah is a stupid person, an extremist not islamic, I make paragon with Hitler rightly because the History began with Rommel in Egypt (El Alamein) to go then at the born of Israel buying land from Palestinians with the Help of British.
Now we Have this war provoquated by Nasrallah without if or but. He send to Israel Bomb?
You are violating my Sovereignity.
Nasrallah is Iranian financed.
Iran is the dangerous Not Lebanon who is living in peace and prosperity, but Nasrallah wants to degenerate a Religion's War like Alqaeda wants.
We must tell that middle-age is ended since many time.

Politics is poison fuelled by corruption. Wherever corruption is less politics is not so dirty. I envy the politics in Holland and the Uk where getting into power is at least shielded from the public as being a life and death metter!

Wow Dave! I never put it in that respect. I'm going to have a serious think about what you have just wrote. I would just like to say that I might have wasted 2 years fro the police force becuase of equal oppotunities. I suppose i never thought about other countries with their porblems becuase at the moment all the media is making a fuss about the royal family and how disgraceful they are acting. I culd blame the media for some of my views as they just go on and on about the UK instead of other countries:( It is indeed a shame that brittish media (specially tv) is becoming, day-by-day, more and more alike the american media: - overly-biased (ALL media is biased! continental europeans: don't delude yourselves that your media is not just because it's not fox news); - concerned only with internal issues (what happened to BBC's globalist approach on things?) - More and more sensationalist. (I am not talking about tabloids, just media which is "supposed" to be serious. Tabloids are nothing but a waste of paper, time and space). I have both Sky News and BBC at my house here in Lisbon and, even though I never really like the "let's repeat the same bit of information every 2 minutes even though we have nothing new to add" approach to news by Sky, I was always quite the fan of BBC. However, lately they're becoming more and more like Sky News and other american news agencies... something I really can't stand. Result: I just watch Euronews (best news channel EVER... though a bit too leftist and judgemental at times) and the portuguese SIC Noticias channel. I won't say anything 'bout the immigration issue cause I would just write A LOT and repeat most of what Dave said. I basically share most of his views on the subject.

And how it is that USA haven't any allied before WWII in the zone where the majority of oil is extracted? Dave, I do agree with just one thing you said - that all nations should certainly have equal weight in world decisions. Neither the U.S. nor Israel nor any other nation should have more weight, this is absolutely true. However, it makes me cringe to read what you wrote about Israel; I read/hear this type of thing a lot and can never understand the sentiment behind it. Of course, Israel has committed many wrong acts; so have many other countries. But why say it is iillegitimate? If Israel is illegitimate because it was created "artificially," as you say, then so is Iraq, which was created "artificially" by the League of Nations after WWI, and so is Liberia, which was created "artificially" by former African-American slaves in the 1800s, and hey, so is every modern country in North and South America, stolen from Native Americans by many Europeans possibly including some of your very own ancestors! Sure, the Gypsies should have their own land, too. Everyone should have their own land! Why not? There is enough room for all of us! It is awful that Palestinians got displaced in the creation of Israel; they are certainly entitled to their own country as well. The Native Americans should also have their own country; they got the rawest deal yet. It is unfortunate that violence and unfairness have plagued the creation of so many countries on Earth. So what makes Israel any different? Is it only because it's the most recent creation, inhabited by people historically hated and spat upon by many, thereby making it a nice blame object for the problems of the world? The Jews made a convenient blame object for the Nazis to use in their propaganda, and now, great, the Jews have a whole country that can be a scapegoat! Now, of course, Israel does NOT do itself any favors by acting the way they do towards Palestinians; they really should be a lot more meek and polite in order to win the world over. However, their actions are no worse than the actions of any other aggressive country in history; for example, IMHO the Chinese have done a lot worse to Tibetans than the Israelis have done to Palestinians, so why do the Israelis get so much more crap from the world than do the Chinese? Ahhhh, because China has so much power, that must be why! The world doesn't dare punish China and incur their wrath! After all, there are a billion of them! Or perhaps it is simply because the Chinese are not Jews, and therefore they must not be that bad (sorry, a snide remark coming from my growing disgust with what seems to be constant festering anti-semitism everywhere) Anway, perhaps I take your remarks too strongly, but that is the same sentiment expressed by those Muslims who wish to blow up both Israel and the U.S. Perhaps they have some reasons, and I'm sure the 9/11 guys picked the World Trade Center because it was full of Jewish Americans working inside (2 bangs for the buck, hah) but most of those folks and their grieving families really had nothing to do with any of the politics or destruction caused by the U.S. and Israeli governments, so therefore I think their malice is misplaced, and all that kind of anti-Israel propaganda fuels their misplaced malice

Entering EU? Probably on 01.01.2007 Romania and Bulgaria will enter EU. The good and the bad? The hopes and the truth? I'll appreciate every kind of opinion. In Bulgaria some people think that after entering EU the life will become better in a short time, but I think it's naive. There's a lot of things to be changed and it'll take time.
