Last night I watched Musta jää (Black Ice, from 2007) and enjoyed a lot this piece of film. Excellent done, not to mention the performance of the actors ,or the beautiful soundtrack (finally a film that uses a LOT of a single composer's work, that is in this case Eicca's from Apocalyptica). The plot is exciting. And I loved let's say the last 15 minutes of it for having shocking metaphors..and also because twas teasing and tricky to capture the sense of things. I sure forgot to say sth important bout it..but anyhow I recommend it. It's more than worthy to be seen.

I watched Sherlock Holmes yeaterday. The movie is pretty great and the music made by Hans Zimmer rocks. And after Sherlock we saw The Green Butchers it´s a funny danish movie and I can´t get enough of it.

I´m watching " The exorcism of Emily Rose" ....DAMN this fuckin movie scares the shit out of me. I can´t beliebe it, it´s a movie shown at 20:15 ! and I´m so scared of it, I don´t even want to zip my pants xDDDD What a creepy movie, but I like it, because I spend most of the time behind my pillow or unter my table playing solitaire while laughing because I´m a pussy. Ah shit! another scary scene, I´m gonna throw this fuckin tv out of my window!

I remember watching that movie, Savi - it is creepy to the power of creepy!
I watched Shutter Island last week. Very well made movie, and a very claustrophobic environment, even when outside the buildings.

Tis not a film, but it connects to that art. I watched a new episode of a ..let's say documentary: Nikita Mihalkov&the Music of Russian Painting. Some of you might know the serie... And yes,for those who don't, it is made by the master director Nikita Mihalkov in 1996 if I am not mistaken. Today twas about some paintings in which Catherine the Great glowed with charm and power ..and those were some I've never seen before. Also I felt my knowledge poor...discovered a russian painter, Polenov... Reminded me of our Grigorescu. Oh,and the paintings in the series are showed in small number and in detail and they put dialogues, imagining the situation that is to be seen in it and the characters. Humorous stories at some points! Was about to forget: also another painter I didn't know about intrigued me.. Fiodor Vasiliev!he lived only 23 years, and painted 4...superb works! I had a retinian feast btw Croc: I immediately recognised your town, though ne'er been there (well , ne'er been to Maradyke either, but I'd recognize the place instantly ;D that's another story ).

I saw Final Destination II and it was bad, then I saw Final Destination III and it was worse, then I tried the F. D. I and it was just slightly better... All in all, I think I lost my time.

I knew I'd be in awe even before watching MONGOL...And now that I've seen it, the awe is greater ;D Think I'll put this title to my list of fave films for numerous reasons: the subject itself, the production, the way the director played with the intrigue by making a historical film in a more humane manner, the actors and the occassion to hear that rough wild beautiful language, landscapes...and moreso for the great great music! For ,les connaisseurs' I mention Altan Urag (which I think I praised here some time ago). Oh, what the hell!to sum up: I love the soundtrack! Throat singing..
So I enthusiastically recommend it!!!

Hehe... "How to Train Your Dragon." Very cute. VERY VERY different from the book, but both were great in their own ways. It was a bit of a special movie since I'm the viking-dragon and my mate is the viking-human. The movie came out at the perfect time! It was a great kids movie, but my friends and I all enjoyed it as well. If nothing else, it's VERY well-animated and has vikings AND dragons in it, so what can go wrong?

I agree with you WalkyriaTiina, Mongol is a great movie. I saw it last week. The music is great, but also the atmosphere of the movie. And as you say, many aspects more to love. Recently i was translating a book and came across Genghis Khan and his empire. I wanted to know a little more, like always, so i read the wikipedia entry. That made me so curious that i searched for a movie about the subject... which was Mongol A pleasure to watch indeed! Another movie that i recently watched and loved a lot, was Ofelas, a movie from Norway's Lapland. I can recommend that one to you too! It has the same authentic feel. (it has English subs... luckily!)
