Sami Juhani ~ Both of my names come from some damn saints according to name books For some reason the second name, Juhani, has passed in my family atleast for 3 generations and I'll make sure it'll keep going on when I have descendants one day. My family name means originally "Marshland" or "Swamp". Ir originates back to the 1500's when my forefathers settled to a lakeshore surrounded by vast swamps and people started to call them according to their surroundings. My family still lives at that area today. Nowadays, though, the name means "trashed", but I think it's pretty cool still ;D

Nordis: what kind of school are you applying for? An academy of art? Or an architecture school? Or what? (answer please in Opinions and discussions) Ehm... ok? It's a media polytechnics school. You study stuff like multimedia and web developing there I'm especially interested in online media like flash applications and animations and things like that.

I am aware that bands record thier songs by each instrument at a time, or a section of the song on computor. What my point is that people who produce songs which is classed as dance or trance, their insturment is a "beat maker" on the PC. As in they create the song purely on computor. whereas Metal bands would create music on guitar, drums, bass, flute ect. Now, I gotta fix this one. There isn't such thing as "beat maker", the closest thing would be a drum machine or some DJ equipment to mix songs and add stuff to them on fly. High majority of electronic music is played with keyboards and different kinds of synths. The sounds are ofcourse tweaked and even completely changed with PC, mainly using programs that simulate actual synths or then are just virtual synths and keyboards I must be pretty decayed what comes to listening music. Back in my 17's I used to listen a cd and read the lyrics at the same time, that way you memorized the lyrics easily and got a lot more out of the song. But I really haven't read the lyrics for years for some reason. Although I listen quite a lot music where the vocals are IMO more an instrument than a way to add lyrics to the music (or in a language I don't understand), I still buy every now and then albums that would be totally great instead of just being "good" if I bothered to read the lyrics. I've also noticed that you can get a lot more feeling on gigs if you know the lyrics, especially if they are really powerful or sing-a-longish

Well what I think about other types of music using computors to MAKE songs is not really easy for me to post. I did try to put it down but it is now working. Long explanation short, I dislike grunge, dance, trance, rnb and hip hop and crap like that. I have reasons but cannot word them right. Plus I am saving a huge discussion about this which might end up annoying people Naah, why to kill a good discussion? ;D This might be a shock to you, so take a seat and breath deeply, but there is NO modern studio where the music isn't recorded and mixed digitally, in other words, with computers. In most of the cases the songs are played piece by piece (sometimes even note by note) and fixed together with an evil computer. Few are the bands that record their songs "live". I say that your reasons disliking so much music is that you haven't ever even listened them Listening is one thing totally apart from hearing. But anyways, let's keep this discussion running! Something interesting in here for a while

Right, after reading Nordi's reply I must say that "music styles" like trance, dance and that other kinda crap are not music because they are mainly done on the PC which would take 5 minutes to create. Feel free to show me how you create music with bare pc in 5 minutes Not that I'd be too fond with dance or trance, but you really think all music that's made with non-organic instruments is anything related to them? It's like categorizing everything from country to nsbm simply as "rock" because they all are made and recorded basically in the same way and same instruments. And what makes the big difference between electric guitar and synthetizer? That distortion and / or delay doesn't appear by itself you know Metal/ rock and so forth is music because the artists needs talent, dedication, creative imagination, skill and expertise to be brilliant to play really fast and keep the intensity like super fast drumbeat or an insanly fast guitar solo. The singers well, I can only stand up for a few here, like danni filth- he is only one of the few singers I can listen to along with glen(deicide) and dez(coal chamber/ devil driver) so that what I think to metal being music. And you don't need any of those skills with other kinds of music? You can play fast as hell 7 days a week without really having any talent. I mean, I can play fast solos with ease even I'm far from a good guitarist Now, I hate all that crappy pop songs and fake artists, like busted and mcfly. They cannot play their own instruments and they are fake. I hate music like james blunt because that music is depressing and makes you want to hang yourself singing "your beautiful". RnB and rap and techno are just rubbish because most of the songs I hear is about popping a cap in a motherfuckers ass, plus the lyrics are just terrible. Word. I really can't stand R'n'B for a single minute, the whole culture around it is something I'll never be able to agree with.

"I hate vegetables. Like, have you ever eat a raw potato?! Man that stuff sucks. I eat only meat because all vegetables suck a lot!" The only types of music I mostly can't stand are these products where company pics up a cute guy or maybe few and sell shitloads of stickers, lollipops, diaries, pens, nail polish and what ever with their name to the defenceless kids who must get those because they want to be cool. The other kind of music I don't prefer listening is either too slow or too fast hip hop. Slow one is usually so "lazy" and down and whiny so that it makes me annoyed, and the fast one is usually about tits and asses. Atleast the songs I've heard. Oh, and christian music I can't stand either. Now, before you go to sleep: if trance, pop, hip hop or what ever isn't music, why METAL is? The vocalists can't sing, musicians just beat their instruments with full force as fast as they can and guys look like girls Oh, and the lyrics are about sex and drugs. ...next on the program: I go to provoke some rednecks on the local gas station --> Oh, and Daddy Yankee is really terrible indeed. I heard La Gasolina from him some time ago, it really wasn't enjoyable.

This is my fav beer hehehehe: Odin Trunk Don't know about this one, but no-one, NO-ONE should even look at the danish Odin pilsner. Yeah yeah, it's name is Odin and stuff but I tell you it's the worst thing you can pour down your throats. Can't say that pilsners would have too much taste in general, but this really was the worst of them all.

one of my favorite is Smirnoff --------> (i wrote that good?), well i like that beer if it can called "beer" at all, its with vodka.... really good.! It's a mixed drink that certainly doesn't have anything to do with beer. But it's good nevertheless.
