Isn't it a bit exaggerated to forbid posting Klaani lyrics in at least a Korpiklaani related Forum? And besides, aren't the lyrics sometimes the key to get into music more than getting into it first by listening? I guess at least here it should be allowed to inform others about the lyrics if eg.someone is interested and maybe likes to quote his or her favourite band. Furthermore this would be helpful for those which cannot afford to buy the CD's or have no access to buy them or whatsoever. I guess herra Virva should not be too strict with everything Believe me, the Klaani CD's are bought, I guess even more now after the Gig on the Wacken Open Air. The question is not "being strict" - whatever it may mean in the first place - or to forbid to post the lyrics in here, but I think it's a little futile, since afterall this is the Korpiklaani-board and it would namely be interesting to see from what else band lyrics people got their inspirations in addition with 'Klaani. And yes, I think it's only fair towards the band, if people would buy the CD:s instead of asking the lyrics in a bands own messageboard or to adding them into the DarkLyrics. If one truly likes the band, one will find the money and the way to buy the CD:s (or to go gigs). Let this be enough from the off-topic this time. Shall we continue with the true issue of this topic?

heres a nice set of lyrics from Canadian gods,RUSH.
"Resist"
I can learn to resist Anything but temptation I can learn to coexist With anything but pain
I can learn to compromise Anything but my desires I can learn to get along With all the things I can't explain
I can learn to resist Anything but frustration I can learn to persist With anything but aiming low
I can learn to close my eyes To anything but injustice I can learn to get along With all the things I don't know
You can surrender Without a prayer But never really pray Pray without surrender
You can fight Without ever winning But never ever win Without a fight
I can learn to resist Anything but temptation I can learn to coexist With anything but pain
I can learn to compromise Anything but my desires I can learn to get along With all the things I can't explain

I need a victim to do things sickening, I just want to make you bleed. My knife is gashing, your blood is splashing. To see your blood is what I need. I'm going to strangle you and I'll slit your throat too. I love to see your blood run and that's the thing that makes me cum. I'm going to kill you just because I want to. I'm the Vampire of Dusseldorf and I will cut your life short. My hands are choking, my knife is broken, an orgasm is what I need. Your blood is spilling, the sight is thrilling. To cum I need to see you bleed. I'm going to strangle you and I'll slit your throat too. I love to see your blood run and that's the thing that makes me cum. I'm going to kill you just because I want to. I'm the Vampire of Dusseldorf and I will cut your life short. (Macabre: Vampire of Dusseldorf) Funny lyrics man. I have never scene such obscene lyrics and the songs is just great too. I advice to listen to it on www.myspace.com/macabre

Nice lyrics Varjotuuli. I really feel like that at the moment but not getting anything back is making the whole thing worse. But not getting an off-topic slap in my face this would maybe fit better to the good and bad about today- thread.
A quote from a book though:
"Ja kuolemapa on ilkeä minulle. On se ilkeä otus.Se otti sen jota minä ra-kas-tin, se on pitkä ja vaikea sana. Siinä on kieli katketa.Ota nyt, kuolema, minulta ne joita minä vihaan. Ne jo joutuvat. En anna niitä sinulle.Tapan ne ennen kuin ehtivät itse kuolla.Niin minä tätä maailmaa rakastan että minä vihaan sitä. Kiroan sen, koska se kirosi minut." (Kullervon tarina- Paavo Haavikko)

Are you able to translate that? or anybody else?? cause i cant understand anything Some text just can't be easily translate from a language to an other, specially when there's many details used in the way which'll work only in the original text. If you ask me, we don't have to translate all the good lyrics in here, which are written in some other language than English. One can tell what's the thing all about, but IMO it's not necessity to translate them all in English.

Sorry for giving my opinion when I've been not asked, but I agree with Virva; there are many songs in Spanish that I'd love to translate for you all, for example Joaquin Sabina's ones; the problems is that sometimes the internal (or simply external) rhymes, alliterations and things like that that make a sdong great in one language can't be reflected in another one, similar to what Virva says. For example, there's a line in one song by a punk-rock Spanish grup which I've always thought to be beautifully written: "Porque ApEnAs hay bAllEnAs en el mar" Vowels are capitalized to show the internal rhyme; moreover, in that two words the stress pattern is the same, both are plain words so are stressed in the syllable before the last one. Well, that line in English would be: "Because there's almost no whales left in the sea" and as you all can see there's no trace of the beautiful internal rhyme that makes that line so great. It's a problem, sometimes there's no way to express something in one langeuage that can be expresse in another one. For my poor knowledge of Suomi, I know that many times it is very hard to translate it correctly into English. Still, I like translating, so I try to do it to show you some songs, even when I know that it will loose some magic. But ok, in fact I have entered in a conversation that really had nothing to do with what you were talking about, sorry.

okay i can understand that with a translation the meaning or the soul of the lyric will getting lost, but i am interested to know what the text is telling about....................if you dont want to translate then tell me the meaning please!
But of many songs i dont know the rhytm or the melodie....so this is why i dont think that that is so bad to translate lyrics into english! Also i can understand that it is difficult to translate lyrics.....i have the same problems, but i like it to it at a text and trying to translate it so good that you understand the meaning!^^

I thought I had posted this already, but it seems not.
This is from the great concept album, III Sides to Every Story.
Extreme - Am I Ever Gonna Change?
I'm tired of being me And I don't like what I see I'm not who I appear to be So I start off every day Down on my knees I will pray For a change in any way But as the day goes by I live through another lie If it's any wonder why
Am I ever gonna change? Will I always stay the same? If I say one thing Then I do the other It's the same old song That goes on forever
Am I ever gonna change? I'm the only one to blame When I think I'm right I wind up wrong It's a futile fight Gone on too long
Please tell me if it's true Am I too old to start anew? Cause that's what I want to do But time and time again When I think I can I fall short in the end So why do I even try Will it matter when I die? Can anyone hear my cry?
Am I ever gonna change? Take it day by day My will is weak And my flesh too strong This peace I seek Till thy kingdom comes

Mari Boine - Gula gulaGula gula, nieida, gánda. Gula máttut dál du čurvot. Manin attát eatnama duolvat, mirkkoduvvot guoriduvvot? Gula jiena, nieida ganda. Gula máttaráhkuid jiena. Eana lea min buohkaid eadni, dan jos goddit ieža jápmit. Leatgo diktán ieččat báinnot? Leatgo iešge mielde gilvvus? Gula máttut dál dus jerret: Itgo don muitte gos don vulget? Dus leat oappát, dus leat vieljat, Lulli-Ameriikka arvevuvddiin, Ruonaeatnama geadgerittuin. Itgo don muitte gos don vulget? Kuule, kuule (käännös)Kuule, kuule neito, poika. Oletko antanut itsesi tahriintua? Oletko itsekin mukana kilvassa? Kuule - esivanhemmat nyt sinulta kysyvät: Etkö sinä muista, mistä lähdit? Sinulla on siskoja, sinulla on veljiä, Etelä-Amerikan sademetsissä, Grönlannin kivirannoilla. Etkö sinä muista, mistä lähdit? Hear, hear (translation)Hear, hear girl, boy. Hear the cry of your forefathers. Why do you let the earth became pollut, poisoned, exhausted? Hear the voices girl, boy. Hear the voices of our foremothers. The Earth is our mother, if we take her life, we die with her. Have you let yourself to be stained? Are you part of the game for yourself too? Hear when the forefathers will ask you: Don't you remember where you came from? You have sisters, you have brothers, in the jungles of South America, in the stony shores of Greenland. Don't you remember where you came from? This is one of the most powerful songs of Mari Boine. It shares an important message too: to remember your own roots and take a good care of Mother Earth. We listened it in our latest Sámi lesson and the Finnish translation is made by our teacher, Irja Seurujärvi-Kari. I also like very much the cover version of Gula gula performed by Shamaani duo.

I llike the lyrics of Metallica
Nothing Else Matters
So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are And nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way Life is ours, we live it our way All these words I don't just say And nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you Every day for us something new Open mind for a different view And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know But I know
So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know But I know
Never opened myself this way Life is ours, we live it our way All these words I don't just say And nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you Every day for us something new Open mind for a different view And nothing else matters
Never cared for what they say Never cared for games they play Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know And I know
So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are No nothing else matters

ÖÖÖhhh, I love you!! It's one of my very favorite songs, and I wrote down the lyrics phonetically since I never could find those, only the translation. I searched so many many times for it. I have the original cd, but no lyrics enclosed, only translations!!! Do you have my other very favo song of her too: It sat duolmma mu ? That's also a very emotional song for me, it means a lot to me.
