Wikipedia said: I remembered correctly! So for Americans my name means Mr. Moose and Eurasians it's Mr. Elk. Enough for this. Carry on, folks!

Ez a nagyon jó. But did you read my last post as I quoted Wikipedia? As I just made clear that in Europe elk means the same animal, alces alces as moose in America? In America they just use the word "elk" from different animal ( cervus canadensis) . That's what the post of dragnagen was namely about. There are differencies between American English and English English. This is the one, which comes out also, when you read the given links from Wikipedia above... But ok, let's leave this subject, shall we? It goes otherwise too much off-topic.

Just one more word for Rempi: elk: 'jávorszarvas' in Hungarian this is the British English name probably from the old English elh or eolh. In North American English this word is used for 'gímszarvas' or 'szarvas' (NAmE also uses wapiti for 'szarvas' as far as I know, Latin: cervus elaphus). North Americans use moose for 'jávorszarvas'. And there's one more antler in Hungarian: 'dámszarvas' or 'dámvad' (Latin:dama dama) which is fallow deer in English. About my nick and avatar: Moondancer comes from the fact that my fave planet is the Moon. And also I like ballet dancing, I wanted to be a ballet dancer but I wasn't talented enough and anyway my parents didn't let me even to try that school. (too bad that now I'm too fat and too old to be a ballet-dancer )Also I was highly inspired by the will and strength of Native Americans who participated and danced in the sundance ceremony of the Lakota tribes. My avatar is quiet old, I'm constantly thinking of changing it, but I like this picture. It seems like I'm sitting at the edge of the world, balancing between reality and nothing. And mainly this is what I constantly do: balancing between two worlds: family, friends and work. And somehow I usually end up by taking too much responsibilities on both sides. And the lyrics under it was sung by Gammaray. Kinda fave song for a long period again.

I read that at first as elk / moose conversion. I was wondering exactly what a moose would have to do in order to become an elk! By the way, this is a great thread. I'm about to put up a blog for videos that I want to be able to access (mostly funny things from youtube with such useful things as 'How to Wait for a Bus' and can't for the life of me think of a name to use.

k2ngu .. is a modification of my last name and it is how everyone immediately recognizes me. My surname is Kangur('weaver' in English) and it resembles so much the word känguru('kangaroo' in English) AND Kängu was a character in Winnie the Pooh.. and number 2 stands for 'ä' if your mobile phone does not allow you to type dotted letters . So I sort of made it my trademark and now I am k2ngu almost everywhere. My avatar is a picture of me. At that moment I was making fun of my classmates(chicks/babes), who were taking pictures of themselves not far away. It is really frustrating when they do it all the time and make all sorts of shrieks and noises.

I just added a new signature. It's a quote from an Anglo-Saxon poem accounting the Battle of Maldon, I like it a lot. I think it's kind of silly for folk metal fans in England, the USA, (and other places with English descent) to totally embrace Vikings and Finns when there is such a vast array of folklore that they are actually descended from! I've always wanted to write some folk-influenced metal songs in the old tongue... too bad nobody in my town likes the same music

Crocodildo... maybe, it sounds a bit vulgar, but that shows my wilderness... It's an old nickname. Since I've seen the first episode of South Park, where Cartman calls everyone "dildos", this word is my favourite abusive word, and Crocodildo is simply a funny derivative word from that. My other nickname is GodlikeBoozer, but I decided not to use it here - I guess it would have been sound really hackneyed here... The avatar is taken from Futurama, the episode where Leela played blurnsball.

nickname: beer-drinker Serbia, 87. - the year of my birth 1987. avatar: "Kosovka djevojka" (girl from Kosovo) - is a famous painting depicting a young girl who was treating the wounded after the great battle at the cradle of our nation, Kosovo, which took place in 1389. when Serbian army managed to stop Turkish invaders from penetrating further into Europe. This is considered to be the most crucial event in Serbian history because although the Turks were stopped, the outnumbered Serbian army had suffered significant losses, and was never able to recover so the Turks conquered Serbia for the next 500 years.
If it wasn't for this battle, the map of Europe would be very different than it is now. And it is this myth that kept our people going during the 500 years of suffering under the merciless Turkish rule. There is a vast amount of epic poems and works about the battle.
