Marduk-when I had been playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, my then nickname-szymoonek, with a clan tag, didn't fit to the table I've chosen Marduk because I found it in my history notebook in the topic about Babilonian Mythology

Learntokill - I took this three words from Psychic Possessor's song (Manipulation). I haven't still an avatar, I have no idea!

I loved going through this thread! It was fascinating to read why each of us chose what we did. Would be nice to see some of the new names added and explained as well.
Mine is quite simple. “Crystiannia” is a play on my birth name “Christina” and the lead character in one of my first written works. She’s since become my alter ego, the Lorelei I’m inclined to become at times. For now it seems I’ve got a bit of a patent on this for if you Google that exact spelling the results nearly all lead back to me! Um…uh-oh? LOL! Tis also the name I use at Faire. As for the pic as of today, it’s simply my favorite picture of me looking all dramatic and pouty on my way to a gothic party, just sketched in pencil.

Pellonpekko is simply the klaani's song eheh. I adore this song and I danced in Rome when they played at midsummer festival.
I like everything about Korpiklaani eheh.
Nordic Feast is other together with Beer Beer eheh.

Wow, I had no idea about this thread until now. So nice to see reasons for peoples nicknames. @croc: haha, that is great, I was always wondering about your nickname, and it is nice to hear, haha. First time I realized your nickname in full (at first I knew you only as croc) I could not stop laughing, and the avatar was oddly fitting. haha On my end: Anwend: that is just a more Germanic/Nordic form of my birth name: Andrew. I got it off of a "viking name generator" and since it fit so beautifully I decided to keep it. I frequently switch betwenn moods where I either prefer Andrew or Anwend, but in all honesty I would still like to meditate on a name made for me, although it will be still similar to these two. My old avatar was a picture of me, my new avatar which I felt the desire to put up after thinking on it last night, is the Bind-Rune that I made for myself. I use it also for my Craftwork and my musical project. It incorporates the Runes that I feel most connected with: Eihwaz at the root, then Ansuz, Raido (both powerful Runes and abbreviations of my full birth name), Tiwaz, and a few others that find themselves in there. Bind-Runes to me are fascinating, and the study of Runes as a whole is such an intriguing subject for me. Extra: My avatar headline is taken from one of my favorite German poems by Wilhelm Bornemann and translates roughly to "In the Forest upon the Heath, that is where I search for Peace" My signature is Icelandic passage from the Havamal, one of my most treasured passages and very fitting for this forum: "Young was I once, and went away, and wandering lost my way. But when a friend I found, rich was I. Man is the joy of man." Perhaps there is another forum for signature meanings and headline meanings, but I figured I'd get them all in one go.

Some of my friends gave me the nickname " Savi" because of Kalles surname " Savijärvi". They recognized that Kalle is one of my favourite guitar players and basically such a cool band member of Korpiklaani. I really like this guy ( I of course like the other guys too so don´t worry but my friends decided to call me Savi" In fact Savi sounds really cool

Decided to embrace my inner lorielei! LOL! (and get rid of the silly pouty pic!) Besides, I've updated to match my current emotional environment. ;D So we have the Rhine Maidens tempting Siegfried and the last line of Heinrich Heine's "Die Lorelei." I couldn't fit the signature I wanted but it was from a book on water maidens and I just thought it described my warped views 110%: "...Part-Faerie, part-Naiad, part-Nymph, their Elfin blood drives them mercilessly towards 'passions of the Golden Age' for heroes who no longer exist.... When they throw themselves into the arms of the first-comer it is not...to devour him, but in the hopes of knowing Love as described in the epic poems of the distant past, guarded by memory and the murmur of ancient springs. Unfortunately, their 'difference,' their desire for the absoluteness, for the faithfulness of Excalibur, and all their interdicts, drives humans away...condemned to continue their endless, utopian quest for love forever. It even drives some of them mad."And I am quite mad!

Well, my nickname is actually a name of a book character, a female warrior. Nothing special, but I liked that name. Besides, I've been using it in the web for a few years, so I got used to it. xD And the avatar is simply a photo of myself and my accordion. (:

Great picture, and great that you play Accordion. For how long have you played? I need to pick mine back up again and learn to read sheet music again as well. No point in buying Accordion sheet music and not using it.
